We’re making our plans for the art show right now. Details
still need to be worked out, but we will have the artist’s
reception and standard silent bidding everyone has come to know & love,
as well as a print shop. The Art Show will be co-located with the
Dealers Room in the Grand Ballroom, but there will be no problems
with space – we’ll have nice, wide aisles and good
sightlines all around.
As is World Fantasy standard, this will be a juried show, so we
will need an example of your work before you can purchase space
(either an electronic image, or mail us something in). You are
exempt from the jurying process if you have exhibited in a WFC
show two times in the last four years or have been a World Fantasy
Award winner or Artist Guest of Honor.
What we’re looking for would be something in the realms of
fantasy or horror (aka: dark fantasy) – science fiction with
fantasy elements is also acceptable. We’d like most of the
work to be originals, although some limited-edition prints would
be acceptable (if a print is in the art show, it cannot be in the
print shop – sorry). All artwork needs to be have created
by the exhibiting artist (no resale artwork in the show). We are
planning on using 4’ x 4’ pegboard panels, with a small
number of 6’ x 2½’ tables (for 3-D artwork).
More info as things firm up, but look forward to what we think
will be an impressive show that artist & viewer will both enjoy!
